The statistics of deaths on water bodies are impressive: since the beginning of the year, water has claimed the lives of 96 people, including 3 children. Only in March, 4 people died and 8 more were rescued.
Despite the warnings of rescuers, despite the warming, citizens continue to go out on the ice of the reservoirs, exposing themselves to direct danger. Such a careless attitude to one's own life and health can threaten a person with death, but the worst thing is that citizens do not even think about such consequences!
At the same time, on the Dnipro River in the Zavodsky district of the city of Zaporizhia, at a distance of 20 m from the shore, two children fell under the ice. A 10-year-old girl was rescued by fishermen who witnessed the incident, they handed her over to medics. Employees of the rescue station №3 of the Zaporizhzhya city rescue and diving service and divers of the Emergency rescue detachment of the special purpose of the State Emergency Service of the region during the search operations removed the body of an 11-year-old boy.
The day before, in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast, the Rescue Service "101" received a report that a man had fallen under the ice on the river Mokra Sura, in the village of Kamyanka, Dnipro district. Upon arrival at the scene, SES officers used diving equipment to inspect the bottom of the Mokra Sura River and found the body of a man born in 1999 without signs of life at a distance of 8 m from the shore. He was taken ashore and handed over to police.
On the same day, rescuers received a report from eyewitnesses that two people on the Vovcha River in the city of Pavlograd, also in Dnipropetrovsk oblast, fell under the ice. Upon arrival at the scene, emergency workers found that a woman born in 1966 and a man born in 1991 were under water. The woman was rescued by the local population and handed over to medics. With the help of a rubber boat, a lifeline and a fire truck, the man was searched, and later his lifeless body was pulled from the water by the Rescue Service and handed over to the police.
Dear citizens, winter is over, which means that the temperature will rise every day, so do not expect persistent frosts. Although the ice has not yet risen on all water bodies of the country, it is strictly forbidden to go on it: the ice is already too thin and fragile!
- do not go out on the ice;
- give up winter fishing on ice;
- do not drink alcohol near water;
- take care of children's leisure and explain to them that going out on the ice in the thaw is forbidden.
If you have an emergency, or you have witnessed such - do not hesitate to call the Rescue Service at 101!
