Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work on survey of the country's territory, detection, seizure and disposure of explosives from the times of past wars. In the past 24 hours alone, on March 1, 18 on-site visits were made, during which 114 munitions were identified.
Thus, on March 1 in Mykolayiv oblast pyrotechnics disposed an explosive device from the times of past wars. The dangerous find was discoverd on February 28 by the local resident during earthworks on a private household in Korabelniy district of Mykolayiv city. The ammunition was identified by the pyrotechnic crew as an F1 grenade from the past wars.
On February 28, pyrotechnics of Kherson oblast left for Oleshkivsky district to neutralize 6 explosive devices discovered by local residents in Kostogrizove Pishchanivka villages near the Poima station. The ammunition was disposed in the prescribed manner.
At the same time, the Rescue Service "101" in Dnipropetrovsk oblast received information that in Ternivskyi district of Kryvyi Rih city an object similar to ammunition was found in a forest strip. A group of pyrotechnic works of the special-purpose rescue squad of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast was sent to the address. The find turned out to be an obsolete 76 mm artillery shell. Pyrotechnics carefully examined the scene of the incident, no additional explosive devices were found. The ammunition was defused by controlled detonation.
In addition, demining works on the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts are underway. Thus, during March 1, the SESU units in Donetsk oblast, where OOS is carried out, surveyed 2.68 hectares of territory, detected and seized 77 explosive objects.
In total, since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnic units of the SES have seized and disposed 6,082 explosive devices, including 11 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosives, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens to follow the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
