On February 23, a meeting with the president of the donor organization Lichtim Osten (Switzerland) Matthias Schöne took place at Zaporizhia Regional State Administration. The participants were the leadership of Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, of the Main Department of the SES in Zaporizhia oblast, of the public organization "City Assistance Center".
The meeting was opened by the Head of the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration Oleksandr Starukh, who thanked Mr. Schöne for his support and caring attitude to the problems faced by our region.
The partner donor organization Lichtim Osten provides active support and assistance to Ukraine, in particular to Zaporizhia region: low-income families, the disabled people, internally displaced persons, children from large families, people affected by the military actions in eastern Ukraine.
Thanks to the activities of the organization and the personal participation of Matthias Schöne for the last 4 years, Zaporizhia region has received more than 242 tons of humanitarian aid. These are food and basic necessities for 20,000 families, aid for medical, educational institutions, military units.
In addition, fire and rescue units of the State Emergency Service were supplemented with uniforms, shoes and special equipment.
"During the period from 2016 to 2017, we have repeatedly received charitable assistance in the form of sets of uniforms, helmets and equipment, which were handed over to Zaporizhia rescuers. Since 2020 we began to cooperate with Zaporizhia regional organization of the All-Ukrainian youth public organization "Union of Young Christians of Ukraine". On September 14, 2020, the Rescue Service received humanitarian aid from Lichtim Osten, namely: shoes, sleeping bags and blankets, which were also transferred to the rescue units of the region "- said the head of the of the Main Department of the SES in Zaporizhia oblast, Major General of the Civil Service defense Alexei Lepsky.
