Recently, within the framework of the project "Improving the capabilities of operational and rescue units of the SES of Ukraine in Zakarpattia region", implemented by the iHELP Institute Foundation and funded by the Polish Development Cooperation Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, a regular international meeting was held on the basis of the Office of the SES of Zakarpatya by video conference.

The participants of the meeting analyzed in detail what has been done during the two years of fruitful international cooperation. Thus, the foreign investment budget amounted to about UAH 3 million (UAH 2,826,000). With these funds for Zakarpattya rescuers purchased: medical equipment and equipment used for primary care; hydraulic tool for rescue operations during emergencies related to WEBER traffic accidents; medium-sized fire and rescue vehicle, 4x4 chassis, Mercedes-Benz brand; special firefighting clothing, helmets, helmets, gauntlets, special protective boots, thermal imager, sleeves, barrels, flashlights, floating motor pumps; as well as materials for the creation of a heat chamber on the basis of the training center of the Emergency Rescue Unit of special purpose.

Ukrainian emergency workers emphasized the importance of special trainings, seminars and webinars, which were held for them with the involvement of the most professionally trained specialists of international class. The acquired knowledge, skills and experience have been useful and successfully used by rescuers and firefighters of Transcarpathia in their daily work. And saving people's lives and health is a priority for the SES.

Participants also discussed the possibility of implementing new projects; outlined the main difficulties that may arise and formulated the best solution. In particular, they discussed the possibility of further cooperation on the development of the gas and smoke protection service of the region and the construction of a smoke chamber.

Rescuers of both countries were unanimous in continuing the business partnership and friendly relations that have developed between Transcarpathian rescuers and Polish colleagues for a long time. Further fruitful cooperation is extremely important for the development of the region, as it provides additional opportunities for social and economic development of Zakarpattya.
