Due to the emergency situation that occurred in western Ukraine on June 30, the Italian Republic handed over humanitarian aid to deal with the aftermath of a natural disaster - a flood that resulted in casualties and large-scale destruction in the western regions.
Floating and mobile motor pumps, boats, power plants, chainsaws, life jackets, fire hoses and other rescue equipment - all this will be transferred to the most affected areas of Ivano-Frankivska oblast to provide assistance to the population.
Cargo at Lviv International Airport named afterDanylo Halytsky was met by the Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service Ruslan Biloshitsky, and Second Secretary of Representation of the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Lviv oblast Roman Tershovchyn.
Ruslan Biloshitsky stressed that this assistance is very appropriate and expressed gratitude to the Italian Government for this show of solidarity: "In April, Ukraine sent to Italy a humanitarian cargo to fight coronavirus infection - 10 tons of antiseptic solution. Today, the Italian Republic has already helped us when a disaster struck Ukraine".
Another flight from Italy is expected on the same day, which will deliver the second part of the humanitarian cargo to Ukraine.
