Lviv State University of Life Safety hosted the 2nd online session on preparation for full-scale field practical exercises within the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 project
The session was attended by representatives of the consortium project from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ukraine, this project represents the Lviv State University of Life Safety. The conference was also attended by senior officers of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Humanitarian Missions and Civil Defense (Brussels).
During the session, organizational and logistical issues were discussed, as well as the scenario of training and safety of each participant was agreed.
Quarantine is not an obstacle to cooperation with Czech colleagues
Recently, rescuers of the 14th state fire and rescue unit of Uzhhorod received 15 oxygen cylinders from colleagues from the Vysočina Region (Czech Republic). Volodymyr Chubirko, director of the ViZa Charitable Foundation, handed them over to the SES specialists. Unfortunately, due to quarantine restrictions, rescuers from both countries cannot meet in person, so the ViZa Foundation took on this charitable mission and donated equipment to Ukraine.

A press tour "Principles and Procedures for Humanitarian Demining in Ukraine" organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine was held in Kramatorsk and Slovyansk on August 18-20. The event allowed journalists and bloggers to get acquainted with the principles and procedures of humanitarian demining on the examples of territories damaged by the armed conflict, to communicate with Ukrainian and international experts in the field of mine action, to raise awareness of best international practices and local initiatives, to see practical work aimed at reduction of risks to people from explosive objects.
Chernivtsi oblast: the rescuers from Ukraine and Romania discussed the functioning of volunteer firefighters.
The Department of the SES of Ukraine is closely operating with foreign colleagues in order to take measures for the safety of citizens in the region. So, a seminar “Presentation of National Legislation in Ukraine and Romania on Emergency Management and the best practices of the local rescue services in Novoselytsia town and Vladen commune” took place today by video conference between the partners of the project “Cross-border cooperation of fire and rescue services” – the representatives of Vladen commune of Botosani County (Romania) and Novoselytsia town of Chernivtsi oblast.

The parties discussed the actions of the Italian coordination staff for localization and eradication of the spread of COVID-19 and further steps to respond to the spread of coronavirus.
Dnipro City: a working meeting took place with the representatives of the Republic of Estonia
August 6, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Mr. Kaimo Kuusk and the First Secretary of the Embassy for Economic Affairs and Development Cooperation Mr. Risto Roos visited the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The working meeting with the leadership of the Main Department concerned the creation and launching of the 112 System in the region, the prospects for the development of the volunteer movement in the field of fire and rescue and the creation of a security center in the village of Taromske.
Chernivtsi: the course of the project of international cooperation with Romania was discussed
The Main Department of SES of Ukraine in Chernivtsi oblast continues to participate in the project "Improving the security of the population in the cross-border region by strengthening joint activities for training and cooperation in emergency management - BRIDGE" under the cross-border program "Romania-Ukraine 2014-2020". This project is coordinated by the Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergencies.
Rescuers of Kyiv city received a new fire truck
This is not the first time that the rescuers of the capital have received help from German colleagues.
So, today, firefighters of the 4th State Fire and Rescue Unit within the framework of the international technical assistance project received a new fire truck from the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ.
National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine - in the world ranking of Webometrics 2020
According to the results of the Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities published in July 2020, the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine has took the 72-nd place among 317 institutions of higher education in Ukraine.
This is the best rating among the higher educational institutions of law enforcement agencies. The ranking is based on several indicators, one of which is the university's place in the ranking of quotation by profiles in Google Scholar.
Odesa: rescuers received humanitarian aid from Switzerland
Rescuers of Odesa region maintain close relations with international humanitarian organizations that care about Ukrainians' safety. Recently, humanitarian aid came from the Swiss international Charitable Organization "Triumph of the Heart".
