The new anti-record was set the last day in Ukraine - 17 people perished in fires on Christmas day of January 7. Six Ukrainians were injured with various degrees of severity. In the winter, the rate of tragic incidents in the residential sector is frightening with steadily high numbers, as the air temperature outside drops significantly. After all, citizens continue to heat their homes, often ignoring the rules of fire safety.
As fire fighters note, it is Ukraine's own negligence that is the main cause of fire and, subsequently, the death of people.
Rescuers of the SES of Ukraine received the first helicopter H-225 Super Puma of the French company Airbus
On December 21, in the framework of the Unified System of Aviation Security and Civil Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the first two helicopters of the Airbus H-225 Super Puma arrived in Ukraine. The certificate for one of them today was solemnly handed over to the rescuers by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The Head of State noted that this is a vivid testimony to the strengthening of the material base of rescuers and units of the National Guard.

The first two helicopters will arrive in Ukraine on December 19, 2018, and the entire system will be fully staffed until 2021. All helicopters gather in France and Germany, "said Arsen Avakov.

The delegation of International Fire Relief Mission (IFRM) works in the Kherson Oblast
On November 7, a delegation of the International Fire Relief Mission (IFRM), headed by its President Brian Abbott, came to Kherson rescuers. The mission works to help the firefighters with equipment, as well as conducting special trainings and trainings for firefighters. In the spring, representatives of the mission were already in the Kherson Oblast for the purpose of establishing cooperation. Then the Americans get acquainted in detail with the material and technical equipment of the fire departments, in particular, the 21st State Fire and Rescue Unit for the protection of the Oleshkiv District. The mission has now brought humanitarian aid in the form of sets of combat clothing and compressed air vehicles for the 21st SFRU.

International scientific-practical conference FESE 2018
On November 7, 2018 on the basis of the Lviv State University of Life Safety started the International Conference FESE 2018 (Fire and Environmental Safety Engineering 2018). Co-organizers of the conference are the Lviv State University of Life Safety and the Main School of Fire Service of the Republic of Poland. The conference is attended by more than 80 scientists and representatives of companies involved in the production of equipment for rescuers. The conference presents the leading educational institutions of Ukraine, Poland and Kazakhstan, as well as scientific and production enterprises of Ukraine and Poland. The purpose of the conference is to discuss various aspects of fire engineering and environmental safety engineering. The term "engineering" of fire and environmental safety is understood as technical advisory services related to the development and preparation of the production process, as well as the implementation of products aimed at ensuring fire and environmental safety.
